In June 2024, the first Semiconductor Alliance Forum was held at the Conjunto Santander de Artes Escénicas in Guadalajara, in collaboration with the Iberoamerican Technology Foundation, the University of Guadalajara and Banco Santander.
This event brought together leaders from academia, government, and industry, who participated in a series of conferences and panels aimed at exploring the future of the semiconductor industry.
Experts from Intel, the SEMI Foundation, as well as Rectors and Secretaries of Economic Development from Querétaro, Baja California, Chihuahua, Jalisco, and Aguascalientes took part, discussing strategies to attract investment and develop specialized talent to support the industry's growth.
The forum concluded with the signing of an agreement between the ITF, several state governments, and leading Mexican universities that aim to promote talent development in semiconductors, with a view to creating a robust ecosystem to support the operations of this emerging industry.
